Non-Surgical Treatments of Varicose Veins

Interventional radiology has opened up the possibility of treating spider and varicose veins through the use of medical imaging techniques and non-surgical medical procedures.  This reduces the amount of scarring and the length of recovery times that were commonly associated with older treatments for these conditions.  Vein stripping, the old treatment option for varicose and spider veins, involved surgically opening the body and removing the vein in sections.  This procedure often takes weeks to heal, and would cause the patient to halt daily activity for a period of time to allow the body time to recover.

Various newer non-surgical medical treatments can be performed to eliminate spider and varicose veins.
